Dear Diary, I'm Pregnant: Teenagers Talk About Their Pregnancy
Published in Paperback by Annick Pr (June, 1997)
Authors: Annrenee Englander and Corinne Morgan Wilks
Average review score:

Pretty good...
If you're a teenager who wants to get pregnant, want to learn more about teens who get pregnant(my reasoning), or have already gotten pregnant, you should read this book.

This book tells the REAL stories of teenagers who've gotten pregnant and either given their child up for adoption, aborted it, or kept it. There are some sad stories in the book and some happy stories.

Also, for parents, this might be a good book to have your teenage daughters AND sons read. I definitely recommend this book.

This book really helped me!
A year ago, I found out I was pregnant. I was scared stiff. I was only 15 and I didn't have any time or patience to be a mother. I didn't believe in abortion, my parents didn't want me to give it up, and I didn't want to keep it. I was very confused and I felt like I was alone. Then I read this book. It really made a difference in my life! I read what other girls did about their pregnancies and how they felt about their choices. Thanks to this amazing book, I decided to give birth to a beautiful baby girl, and now I know that my daughter Carisse is living with a very nice couple. She's the baby they always wanted, and none of this would've happened if I had never read "Dear Diary, I'm Pregnant-Teenagers Talk About Their Pregnancies". Thanks to a great book!

Dispatches from the Weimar Republic: Versailles and German Fascism
Published in Hardcover by Pluto Press (01 June, 1999)
Authors: Tania Rose, Morgan Philips Price, and Phillips M. Price
Average review score:

Good chronicle from a committed leftist perspective
Excellent recounting of the failed attempts to bring democracy to Germany for the first time and makes clear that both the left (mainly Communists and far left Socialists) and the right (mainly National Socialists and similar fascist groups) were determined to ensure that democracy was not successful there. They needed the Republic to fail for them to be successful and eventually they together along with the hated Treaty of Versailles brought down the Weimar Republic with horrible consequences for everyone. The dispatches are wonderful because of the contemporaneous nature of the reporting but in my opinion are quite flawed due to the author's incredible faith in the soviets or workers councils as well as other far left entities, and his hostility towards anything that did not further the leftist socialist agenda. Reading the book after the intervening decades makes that faith almost laughable if it wasn't so tragic. Incidentally I visited Weimar two years ago and it is a shame that such a beautiful cultured city should be linked with such a sad chapter of German history. Better to remember the Weimar of Goethe, Schiller, and Liszt than that of Luxemburg, Stinnes, and Hindenburg.

a must
Every body who want to understand Germany before the Hitler - period should read this book. When finished reading you can say: Hitler is a product of 'Germany' and not an individual politician.

Do You Have to Wear a Collar: Stories of an Ordained Ministry
Published in Hardcover by Regent Press (01 December, 2002)
Authors: Bart Sarjeant and Donn F. Morgan
Average review score:

A delightful read for everyone
All of the true vignettes in this book are able to stand on their own. Together they weave a remarkable tapestry of a life well lived in service to others. This is an inspiring book, easy to read in a couple of sittings, and it's hard to imagine who would not enjoy it. It would make a good gift for old or young. Quite a few belly laughs, too! Would that there were more clergy like Bart Sarjeant in our midst. I look forward to another volume of tales from this clergyman author.

Fantastic
A great read for anybody of any age--great stories, lessons and laughs!

Entrepreneurial Marketing
Published in Digital by John Wiley & Sons ()
Authors: Leonard M Lodish, Amy Kallianpur, and Howard Lee Morgan
Average review score:

A practical book!
This book is worth reading. It is comprehensive and informative including all aspects an entrepreneur should know. It is good to first bring out the importance of positioning, targeting and segmentation, as many decisions mentioned in the following chapters are made depending on it so that money will not be wasted in the unnecessary or wrong areas.

The decisions of selecting and developing new products and services, pricing, public relation and publicity, distribution, product and service rollout, sales management, promotion, advertising, hiring, capital raising as well as branding stated in the following chapters are mentioned in details, followed with a lot of examples that are great and realistic.

Summaries are given in every chapter. And there are a lot of technical terms given with explanations, making it easier to understand.

After reading this book, I am sure that most of you who want to be an entrepreneur or those who already have your own business will know how to continuously improve the perceived value of your business to build distinctive competence, so that you can communicate its value to your target market. In short term, your revenue and profits will increase. In long term, your company will be healthier.

Great book! A real-world, practical guide
Unlike most marketing primers, this book provided a real-world, fact-based approach to marketing your startup. It was packed with examples and good strategies for making your business stand out and succeed. I wish I had it when I started my business -- it would have saved me from learning several lessons the hard way. Well worth the price!

From Lava to Life: The Universe Tells Our Earth's Story (Sharing Nature With Children Book)
Published in Paperback by Dawn Pubns (March, 2003)
Authors: Jennifer Morgan and Dana Lynne Andersen
Average review score:

Where did I come from?
Told as if the Universe has patted her lap & invited to you up for grand story, she takes you back into a time before time, when the Earth was formed, long, long before you or I were motes in the storm. Long before dinosaurs were born & flowers grew.

Told in a confidential, amusing & lyrical turn of phrase, FROM LAVA TO LIFE spills the beans on how life began here from microscopic cells in a churning brew of chemicals as our raw orb rolled around the heavens.

Fascinating images! Dana Lynn Andersen captures our imagination with her broad strokes of things bigger & smaller than one pair of eyes can see. Jennifer Morgan's sense of humor is both reverential & irreverent, charming & instructive.

If you are stumped when your kids ask the oldest of questions: "Where did I come from?" Then FROM LAVA TO LIFE & its prequel BORN WITH A BANG are for you!

Vividly illustrated in striking color
From Lava To Life: The Universe Tells Our Earth Story by storyteller, educator, and environmental advocate Jennifer Morgan is the second volume in an amazing summary series for readers ages 8 through 12 of what science can tell us about how the Earth came to be, and how life arose upon and in it. Vividly illustrated in striking color by Dana Lynne Andersen, From Lava To Life is a most fascinating introduction to science for young readers, beginning with the formation of the earth and concluding with the age of the dinosaur. From Lava To Life is also available in hardcover. Also very highly recommended for young readers is the first volume covering the birth the universe and the development of the solar system, Born With A Bang: The Universe Tells Our Cosmic Story: Book 1.

From Whence Cometh My Help: The African American Community of Hollins College
Published in Hardcover by University of Missouri Press (December, 1999)
Author: Ethel Morgan Smith
Average review score:

A Different Kind of History
Ethel Morgan Smith digs for history where the written record is slim...bringing to light the life and times of the Hollins Community, where blacks lived in service to nearby Hollins College (now Hollins University). The college's founder brought with him 16 slaves when he set up shop on the outskirts of Roanoke in the early 1800's. Civil War brought freedom, but blacks continued to serve the college in anonymity and in poverty for decades to come. Many current black retirees lack a benefits package. With written records so hard to come by, Smith focuses on oral history to bring the community to life. The result is a book intertwining historical record with personal narrative. It is a tale both sad and glorious, and her work is a tribute to the women and men of the Hollins Community.

Connecting Past and Present
"Fron Whence Cometh My Help" is a wonderful and astounding combination of historical research and personal search. Ms. Smith uncovers a part of the past long hidden (the story of the African-American community that has been part of Hollins College--and separate from it--since the founding of the college) and shows us that how we understand the past is deeply affected by the search itself. In the course of the book, we meet some extraordinary people and see clearly the many tangled connections of past and present. Ms. Smith's dedication in telling this story is matched only by her honesty in how she tells it. A compelling book, with a title that keeps revealing new meanings with each chapter.

Gentle Rosie

Authors: Mary Morgan and Van Royan
Average review score:

delightful illustrations with simple text make this a winner
Wait till you see how cute rosie is! My 2 1/2 year old is absolutly in love with the two rosie books. The simple one sentence text makes it easy for her to tell me the story now (we bought the books yesterday). These books are simply charming!

So cute...
A very cute, sweet, quick read for your child. The illustrations of how Rosie is gentle are very touching. You must have Wild Rosie to go along with this book. They balance each other. My daughter delights in how Rosie can be so gentle and sweet, but also has her naughty moments. A good book to keep in the diaper bag.

Godzilla on Monster Island (Random House Pictureback)
Published in Paperback by Random House (Merchandising) (October, 1996)
Authors: Jackie Dwyer, Tom Morgan, Paul Mounts, and Jacqueline Dwyer
Average review score:

Good
good story but bit more descriptevive battle with pictures of it that caught more of the moment

A great story with good pictures
Godzilla and Anguirus discover a strange white ball, which is what the monsters call it. In reality it is a giant cocoon! Mechagodzilla comes to get it! Godzilla defends it. I like it because of the plot and pictures. Godzilla looks ok--although his eyes seem too big.

Great Mother Mountain

great mother mountain
although i have not read a lot of lesbian literature, i can freely say that what i have read i have not enjoyed. i was given a copy of great mother mountain by friends and felt an obligation to read it. i was so very pleasantly surprised. not at all your run of the mill girl meets girl, girl loses girl, girl gets girl back, this novel has a wonderful storyline with an absolutely engaging subplot. the eleventh hour twist will bring smiles to your heart, and keep you turning pages. settle into a comfy chair and let mattie take your hand and lead you on a journey that will make you happy to be a woman.

This is the Best Read in Years
I would like to bring to everyones attention this great read. Great Mother Mountain held my attention right from the start. The story of two woman finding such love for each other and the intertwining of their families is spellbinding. When you read this book, you look at the happenings as though you are there. You feel the anguish and the triumphs as though you had done them. When I was coming to the end of this book, I felt pleased with the knowledge that the next book of Sabra Morgan, Valley Echoes was on its way to me. I can not wait to read the next chapter in this great story. I truly feel this is one of the best books I have read in quite some time. Do not let it slip by.

Hydroponic Lettuce Production
Published in Paperback by Casper Pub (01 February, 1999)
Author: Dr Lynette Morgan
Average review score:

well organized
a targeted and useful and informative book detailing systems of lettuce production. Easy reading and refrencing a good addition to my library.

Great book for the beginner and intermediate grower
The book really gets into the specifics of growing lettuce in an NFT system. It is based on New Zealand farms, but the information is still good. All numbers are Metric but that should be no problem the convert. I would recommend this book to those who want to grow lettuce for a living and to those who want to do it for their own food.
